![]() ![]() It was very disappointing since we’ve been looking for a good quality Chinese restaurant. I tasted both and it was overwhelmingly breaded and you could hardly taste the chicken. Two in our party ordered breaded type dishes (Lemon Chicken and General Tsao Chicken). ![]() Although the place is beautiful, that type of service takes away from the experience. He didn’t seem to enjoy his job and it was apparent. He never refilled our water and when he brought the bill, never smiled, thanked us for coming.or any type of conversing. Our waiter was efficient in taking our order and delivering it, but not very personable in any way. The sushi looked good and we wished we had tried that instead of what we ordered. There is also a nice sushi bar to sit at and. It looks like you can eat out on the patio when it’s warmer weather. The place is beautifully decorated with colorful ornaments in the trees out back and lovely artwork on the walls inside. This place is great for Dim Sum or Sushi and I'm sure they have some great Chinese food as well but much of the stuff we ordered tonight was just not that good. I didn't enjoy it since it was much like the beef to me. However it's overpriced relative to size compared to the same or very similar dishes at Cho or Takadashi.ħ) Chef's Orange Chicken ($16 +$1 for brown rice)- We were divided on this one, my wife and our friend liked it and would order it again. Deep fried beef with some peppers and little to no flavor.ĥ) Squid Salad ($7)- A delight and a dish we would defiantly order again.Ħ) Ahi Tower ($14)- This dish was also very good and we would order it again. We would clearly order again.Ĥ) Chef Special Beef ($16)- The biggest disappointment of the meal. It's a clear broth soup which was nice.ģ) Buddha Delight ($13)- A very nice vegetable dish in a clear sauce that was very tasty and flavored the brown rice nicely, There are a variety of veggies in it- snow peas, bamboo shoot, broccoli, ETC. It's tasty but three shrimp is hardly a seafood soup. Hunan Lion has better Crab Puffs.Ģ) Seafood Soup for Two ($9)- we were underwhelmed with this dish as well. The food was packaged well and hot when I got it home.ġ) Crab Puff ($7)- We were disappointed in this dish, very little cream cheese and under fried. However, the food was ready and there was minimal contact. Pick up requires you to go inside which I don't like. When we ordered online, we were allowed to select a time but then sent us an email with a different pick up time. The ordering and take out process aren't as refined as many we have experienced during the. This review will first focus on the take out process and then on each dish ordered. Since the pandemic started we typically do take out somewhere once a week. Mongolian Beef- The same dish all three places, but $5 more here.ĭragon Lion fight- I don't recall this dish any where else but it's Chicken and Shrimp with veggies and really nice.įrankly this is Chinese at Westlake prices, Hunan Lion is the better value. Taiwanese Hot and Sour Soup- Good but more Tofu than Seafood which was not the case at the old Chinatown or Hunan Lion. I'll rate each dish below.Ĭrab Puff- Not as much cheese as Hunan Lion or the old Chinatown. With respect to the food, it's good Chinese, similar to the old West Lake Chinatown and the current Hunan Lion, but more expensive. The dishes came slowly and each time she declared that she could not carry them all, but she found time to chat up her friends between them. She delivered our Crab Puffs later cold after another hold and chat session next to us. ![]() order, Then she came out with our soup and spent 10 minutes holding it while she chatted them up again. First on ordering, she literally spent 10 minutes talking while we waited to. To start with, let's discuss service, our server literally left us waiting on several occasions while she chatted up the next table.
